Eve Rose Borenstein, J.D., operated "Tax Exempt Law Office of {her name}, LLC" until 2004, when that firm merged into Borenstein and McVeigh Law Office LLC (www.BAMlawoffice.com). Her practice in both firms addresses the unique tax and regulatory rules applied by the IRS and state agencies to “tax-exempt” organizations.  Officed in Minneapolis, Eve consults with CPAs and individual non-profits nationwide; she has represented  more than 850 tax-exempt organizations before the IRS.  She is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Tax Section Committee on Exempt Organizations and works with various other professional groups and committees (including AICPA) in providing feedback to the IRS on exempt organization tax forms and procedures.  Eve is the author/instructor of various exempt organization CPE courses offered by many State CPA societies, and teaches widely to the professional community serving non-profits as well as to non-profits directly.  Speaking and teaching have always comprised a significant portion of her work as she is committed to assisting the sector in “doing it right the first time”.

Ms. Borenstein graduated from the University of Rhode Island and received her law degree from the University of Minnesota in 1985.  After working with Ernst & Whinney’s Tax Department, she opened a solo practice serving the tax-exempt sector in 1988.  While half of her clients are organizations with gross revenues of less than $1,000,000 per year, Ms. Borenstein also represents many medium and large organizations, particularly on IRS audits and correspondence.  She is the proud parent of two young adults and resides in Minneapolis with her life partner.
